Patti can advise and help with:

"I will write ANYTHING that someone does not want to write himself or herself. THIS EXCLUDES homework and research papers...but I will consult on those and help. I just cannot do it all FOR you. Not fair, you know. I will GHOSTWRITE. If someone wants to tell his or her story, I can do that as well. Imagine all the possibilities!"

Publish Your Own Book...Fast and Easy

  1. What if I am not a professional writer?
Every person is the best author of the story of his or her life. NO ONE can write it but YOU. I can help you to polish your original script.
  2. Can I write, even if I don't have a computer? Surely, you can! I publish starting with the phase you are in at the time. If you want to hand write it and mail it to me, that is fine. I will put it in print.
  3. All I have is an outline. Can you help me develop it?
Absolutely! An outline is a beginning. We can go from there to paragraphing and on to full chapters. Before you know it, you will have a publishable product!
  4. Aren't writers born?
No. Very great writers, like Sheakespeare, might be. But the majority of writers are people with a story to tell. And that means YOU!
  5. Can I design my own cover?
Yes. However, if you want to select from a gallery of covers, you may. Also, you can begin with an idea, and one of our artists can design it. We can collaborate on the cover.

  6. My spelling and grammar are terrible! Can I still write?
Of course, you can! Thirty years plus of English teaching experience will be behind you! We do proofreading and editing. The book will be carefully checked numerous times before going to press.
  7. I want to write about something that happened in my life, but I do not want to expose others.
That is not a problem. You can create fictional characters. This is easily done with a name change. No one has to know who it is, but you. Many authors call a work fiction, so that they can write the facts.
  8. I know I want to write a book, but WHAT can I write about?
A person always writes best about what he or she knows about. Think of your life, your hobbies, your job, your dreams. The topic is in you.
  9. How expensive is it to publish a book?
That depends. It varies. It can be fairly inexpensive, if you go with a small press and print a limited number of copies. Or, it can get expensive by making a book hardback and adding lots of extra features.
  10. How long does it take to write a book?
Again, this depends on the author. Generally, from several months to several years. However, working with an author on a regular basis can expedite the process.

  11. Who will buy my work?
We shall see. Many companies now offer built-in e servers, so that the book may be offered globally. It will be up to you, the author, whether you want to have local signings and share the work with your family, or make it available at thousands of e tailers on the internet. The sky is the limit!
  12. What if my work has illustrations?
That is fine. Either you can do them yourself, or we can have one of our freelance artists do them. Also, we can use images that are free...such as google images or clip art. However you decide, we can help!
  13. Can you just write it for me?
Yes, we can. This is called ghostwriting. Many choose to do it. Recent bestsellers have been ghostwritten. You retain the title of author and we can give the name of the person who assisted you, if you like.
  14. What genre should I use?
Whichever one you feel most comfortable with. And, whichever one suits your goal. For example, if you want to recollect memories of your mom or dad, then you would write a memoir. If you wanted to share many stories you have written over time, you might publish a collection of short stories. If you love poetry and have written a lot, you might collect them all into one book and give it a creative title! And...if you have that great American novel in you, it is time to get it out...and on paper!
  15. Why should I write?
I am glad you asked! It is cathartic. Writing can help one to heal. It can bring great joy. It can explore who you are at your deepest levels. It is not only a hobby, but a very healthy habit! Write on!
